The Winner of the Dragonball Z PS2 Game Is...

Post by racketboy »

SegaVega!

Congratulations on a writeup the not only featured a game that is very obscure, but was written very well and was very convincing.
It was actually, a pretty tight race as the other entries were top-notch as well, but somebody had to win :)

Anyway, I hope to run more contests in the future and thanks to those that participated.

You can read the contest entries here:

Thanks retrogamer!

I'm surprised to have won - as I told racketboy, I saw your entry first and was almost scared out of posting  This entire time I was convinced you were the winner

I reread your post and the best man clearly won. I think I went a little over board with my post since I love the game so much. I think pretty much everyone knows about the game I wrote about since it fetches such high prices on Ebay. The game you wrote about however I had never even heard of. Your post was much more on topic than mine. After reading your post I can't wait to get my hands on that game. Congrats again on your win. I did a review on the game you won for Racketboy and it is a pretty good game and much better than the previous Dragon Ball Z games. I think you will enjoy it very much. :D

Thanks again retrogamer.

I wouldn't downplay Rondo's obscurity though - it seems like Konami will do anything they can to destroy the thought that Rondo was never truly released stateside. Those ebay prices are probably just the Castlevania fanatics like ourselves who will eat paper towels for a month just to own the original  And I hope you enjoy SSSV as much as I have; it really is a lot of fun.

I've heard great things about Super DBZ as well. I've been wanting to try it since it's Japanese release, but haven't had the chance. What excites me most is that it was produced by the man behind Street Fighter II. That game was a life altering experience for me.

Did you receive the game from Racket yet? If so how do you like it?

Haven't got it just yet, retrogamer...but wow, between this, Yakuza in a few days and Okami after that, my PS2 is gonna blow out! I'm sensing Yakuza is going to be set aside after a bit, I've held off on SuperDBZ long enough. :)

Sorry for the delay -- I still have to get things straightened out.
I'll have Atari send it out soon.

No problem racket, I've still got some serious playing to do in the meantime. :)
