Classic Controller / Hori Stick compatible Wii games

Post by denpanosekai »

Topic says it all. I don't have a Hori stick yet but I'm hellbent on getting one from Ebay. I just want to know which Wii or WiiWare games (NOT VIRTUAL CONSOLE) I should look out for. Maybe someone else will find this list helpful, in fact I can't find one anywhere... Help me make this list better!

Feel free to discuss about The Shaft vs Hori Stick too...

COMPATIBLE w/ HORI + CC
- Blast Works
- Castle of Shikigami III
- Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 2
- Dokapon Kingdom (though futile)
- KOF The Orochi Saga
- Guilty Gear XX Accent Core
- SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1

UNSURE ABOUT HORI (help kudasai)
- Mortal Kombat: Armageddon
- Namco Museum Remix
- Ultimate Shooting Collection (USA not out yet)
- Tatsunoko Vs Capcom (CC confirmed, not out yet)
- Samurai Showdown Anthology (not out yet)

TOO BAD FOR HORI (Uses CC analog sticks)
- Baroque
- Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
- Geometry Wars
- Mario Kart Wii
- Mercury Meltdown Revolution
- Super Smash Brothers Brawl

WALL OF SHAME (should but doesn't support CC)
- Counter Force
- Heavenly Guardian
- Metal Slug Anthology
- Octomania
- The Monkey King

kinda prefer the layout on the Hori, but the NeoGeo stick definitely wins in terms of style.
also as you said, sold out everywhere.

yeah. That is a really slick looking piece of hardware. How does it play? Solid?

And the fact that metal slug isn't compatible- for shame. Thats the only game i want to play with the stick!

the NeoGeo stick is great - it's an octagonal gate though - so maybe for easier diagonals and stuff it wouldn't be as good as HORI for shmups, however it is a little bit easier for fireball type movements in KOF games, and although the buttons feel a bit mushy at first , once you get used to them they are very nice. The NeoGeo stick also feels heavy and has a good resistance to it - i got for a very small price at the time. Im very glad I got it and the SNES pad when they were possible to get.

actually I've just realised the HORI fighting stick for Wii has actually 8 PROPER buttons, unlike the 6 on its close cousin, the EX2 :s -

I have a PS2 to GCN controller converter so I should be able to play a lot of these with my HRAP2 SA, right? I'm gonna have to experiment.

you DEFINITELY will be able to play everything on VC with your HRAP - i play mine through a PS2 to GC convertor and it works perfectly (although the default mappings are usually a bit silly)

I dont have anything to add, but I want to say thank you for the list. I am working my way through those that support my hori sticks. If I find any I will add them.
