septerra core

Post by dlmvii »

Anyone ever played this? I've had it on my PC for quite a while, but never gotten around to playing. Any thoughts on if it's worth it?

I play it before like few years ago and finish it. The game is actually not that bad. Don't expect it to be amazing at the same time.

The game itself does look like a Japanese Animated game from the design (which can be good or bad depend on your taste).
Storyline is okay. It manage to keep you going toward the end of the game but I don't think they is anything in this game that is memorable. Basically, a typical storyline like you play with other RPG game (the world is at trouble and you have to save it from the evil person).

Character development is very good for this game. I have to thanks the game dveloper to make the character development very interesting. It isn't much but it's enough that you will like some of them.

As for the game system, be warmed. They is couple issues with the game for the XP (mostly this game isn't design to play it on XP but 98 or 2000). This mean, they will be bugs (and they is plenty from the last time I play it) and a major one (somewhere at the middle of the game) that stop you from beating the boss unless you use the cheat system to go around it (which I did to keep on going). If you don't you will die there even if you have the best weapon at that time or level you character at high rank. I don't know how if this game can work at Vista but you can try. Don't worry though, they is a patch that fix most of the bugs for the XP. Here is the link http://www.lith.com/sites/septerra/.

If you do play this game, I recommend you to find all the pigeons in the game. I don't remember how many they're but if you do fine all of them, they will let you open a building (which is lock all of the time) and let you get the best weapon in the game. It's recommend to get them if you going to fight the last boss (but you don't really have to).

Other than that, the game is okay. I give it at least a 7 out of 10 now. It isn't the amazing game I play for PC but it was one of the interesting one to try it out once (only once).

I love this game but giving up hope finishing it. It is too bloody time consuming. I really hated the pigeon side quest.Dammit!!! My favourite character has to be Marduke & Maya. I would also rate this game 7/10. (So-So) :|
Today's processors have increased in speed so rapidly. Unfortunately, humans finger speed has not! ImageSpeed is nice, yes, but at a price.

i think PC gamer gave it like an 80% or so back in the day. i own the game somewhere, and got about 4 hours into it before i stopped playing. i can't remember if i got stuck, got bored, got distracted by a better game, or just lost interest.
