Really strange problem with Saturn. Help! It's really weird!

Post by loganm187 »

Okay, so I have had a modded Saturn for over a year and it has worked great and I have burned tons of games. well, the other day i pop in panzer dragoon saga disk 2 to continue where i left off and it goes to the cd menu and just says 999.59???? so i reset it and it does the same thing. so i pop in radiant silvergun and it works perfect, mega man x4 works perfect and so on(all games are burnt copies by the way)So i think well lets try disk one of PDS since i just finished and it worked perfect...same message one that one and also disk 3 also.....but, disk four boots. Anyway i go through all my back up saturn games and all of them work besides PDS disks 1-3, dragon force, guardian heroes, shining force and Albert odyssey. All these games are in mint condition and i have played multiple times before without any trouble. all my other back ups work perfect but my system all of a sudden just stopped reading these particular disks for some reason????It doesn't make any sense to me at all. My system also will play all original games too. Any idea's guys? Any ideas would help!

Are those games different brand name CD-R's then the other backed up copies? Also, might be hard to remember, but did you burn them differently? Used different software, burned at different speed, etc?

Try burning one of the disc over again, CD-R's do go bad. I've had a number of them go bad on me before. Example: I burned random back up data onto a CD 3 years ago, popped in my PC CD drive, and the disc was empty.

The problem is, do you have the original disc image on your hard drive still, the one you originally burned the disc with? If the disc is f-ed up, you cant exactly copy the disc image (off the f-ed up disc).

If you don't, just download the image of one of your games that won't work, burn it, and see if it plays. There's the slight problem of the image you downloading being corrupted, if you want I'll upload the PDS disc for you, or Shining Force. I don't own any other games that are on your 'poop' list.
