New Samsung 32" LCD and my dreamcast looks washed out ?

Post by Yogim0nn »

Hi all, my first post so be nice

Got myself a new Samsung 32" LCD and as the title says my DC looks nowhere as sharp or colourfull as on my old 22" CRT TV. My current setup is through a SCART cable, my LCD has 2 scarts but only one supports RGB.
Ive looked at these VGA boxes and cables on the dreamcast guides articles, just wanted to know if they would significantly improve on the image much ? Or can anyone suggest an alternative ?

Gradius V on my PS2 looks soooo much better, but i nearly cried when i played soul caliber on DC

Thanks
Cant think of anything witty or funny, so Ill just stick to playing games :)

I just noticed that mine looks a bit washed out today when I hooked it up for the first time. Maybe go with a different cable? Make sure its not running close to any power cables and getting interference. Or maybe just go with Svid, I think it is the best in my opinion if you cant do VGA.

Get the Dreamcast VGA BOX.
It will blow you away! It will look like a computer image with the vga-box or vga-cable.
But do buy a dreamcast vga-box, not some weird converter that converts to VGA.
Here me now and believe me later.
You're in for a treat!

VGA will definitely give you the best picture you can get.

But welcome to LCD and HDTV. Your old shit just doesn't look as good anymore. It just doesn't do that low resolution, it has to upscale a shabby composite signal by nearly 4 or 5 times depending on your native resolution. Your CRT didn't have to do that... oh and a some LCDs just suck at certain colours... bleh.

Well ill have to invest in a DC VGA box from the sounds of it. Shame really, i hate all that "out with the old, in with the new" rubbish, but i guess eventually theres no way round it

Cheers all
