Jemsic's Arcade Stick 2

Post by jemsic »

Well, I finally finished creating my second stick :D

It features USB, a custom overlay I created, unbreakable lexan, and a nice wooden box.

Parts probably ended up being under $50, but probably $100 in labor.

It's definitely not something I can sell. I would have to charge way too much to ever make a profit.

That's a glorious item to say the least. It's more attractive than your avatar :)

I wouldn't say that, but I like it. ;)

But then again, you can't really compare anything to Milla.

Here's some more pictures (much larger). All the buttons are soldered now and it's complete.
All I have left to do is make a cover for the bottom.

Where can one learn how to do all this? How much knowledge of electronics is required?

You need to know how to solder (well) and to have access to and be able to use a voltage meter.

If you plan on making a halfway decent stick, you need to have basic building skills.
I wouldn't suggest this as the first thing you ever built.
