I don't understand. (Donkey Konga)

Post by Kevman »

I just came back from playing 3 songs, two of them being medleys. They featured the "Itsy Bitsy Spider", "Bingo", "I've been Working on the Railroad" and "Happy Birthday". Seriously WTF!? I don't want to waste my time playing these little kiddie songs. Plus I thought well maybe one won't be so bad but the first three songs are all kid songs. Jeez, and I have no choice but to play them if I want to get enough coins to buy mini-games.

I'm also a little dissapointed with the song set in Donkey Konga. I was expecting a lot more Nintendo songs but instead I got about 3 or 4 of those and 20 mediocre Guitar Hero style songs. Maybe I'm a little picky. Does this perhaps get a little better with Donkey Konga 2 or 3?

And what are your other thoughts on Donkey Konga for those that have it?

I was disappointed with the song list too. I find that earning coins to buy songs is boring, so the only time I play Donkey Konga is when I have friends over. We just use the songs that are already available. I haven't played the sequels so I can't comment. Donkey Kong Jungle Beat is an awesome game. It seems light at first, but all of the levels I've played so far are re-playable, both because they are fun and you can try to earn a higher medal.

I found song lists of the sequels. It seems Donkey Konga 3 has the best song list. It has so many videogame hits. If I want ot play songs I hear on the radio all the time I'll play Guitar Hero or something.

Donkey Konga 2 was essentially a compilation of pop radio hits from the 90's. You should look into Donkey Kong Jungle Beat. I had a much better time with that game than I ever did Donkey Konga.

Donkey Konga = Lame
Donkey Kong Junglebeat = Awesome

Jungle beat is my favorite platformer (to date) on the cube.
