help with neo4all

Trying to get Neo4all going on my Dreamcast. However most of the Read-me documents (and many other files) are being displayed as VLC media player files. When i try to open them with a word processing program they do not display properly. I'm clueless as to what should be done.
Ive never tampered with Neo4all before, so it would be nice to be able to read these files. Can somebody point me in the right direction.

Thats the problem. The file will be called, "1st_read" (An extension isnt always showing), or something that suggests that you should be reading it. However, for whatever reason, they're being registered as, VLC media files.
