How do you store your games/cases
Ive been curious about how you all store your games/cases, perticularly CD/DVD/BD games. My friend puts all of his games w/ cases in a plastic box then keeps the game(s) in a soft multi-disc case and carts in a custom cart case. I personally just keep the games in the original game cases but im thinking of doing the same thing as my friend to perserve those pretty Saturn and Sega CD cases,

All my games stay in their original cases on a shelf. I'm just careful with the saturn cases, and after 26 games, I haven't broken any of those ever-fragile boxes.

amen to that. Saturn cases are some of the best looking cases ive seen (only ones i think could possibly beat it is the PSP cases) but they break waaaayyy to easy. The Apprentice wrote:All my games stay in their original cases on a shelf. What's the best way to store old Nintendo games? I like getting games with their boxes and instructions but I'm not sure if I'll do that with those games because of their cardboard boxes. I'm just worried that they'll end up getting ripped up and thrown away with the instruction manuals hiding under the couch or something.

To answer the question I keep all my games in their original cases on a shelf.
the local store has them for 50 cents each, same w/ snes games

I keep all the cd based media , Genesis, and TG-16 games in the original case on the shelf. All the snes and nes boxed I have go in a storage bin and the just the carts on the shelf. I'm the kinda guy who wants to be able to pop in any game whenever and not worry about damaging the box when I take it out or put it away.
Also, I really don't suggest putting all your games in a cd folder for 2 reasons.
1) Even though the material is soft it still puts tiny micro scratches on the disc and over time they get they start getting a dull finish. Bad for resale and for playing. You want a bright shiniy surface to reflect the laser back properly. The cd cases "float" the disc and the game doesn't actually touch the plastic. minimal contact preserves them the best!
2) It makes it so easy to steal all of you games in one fell swoop. A cd wallet can just walk away too easy. Someone would actually have to coordinate a robery accomidating a ton of sega cd or saturn games. It happed to my cd case back in high school, and now I'm still left with a ton of empty cases i can't bare to throw away.

I can confirm this also. I'm stuck with all my Saturn cases (dipshit tha broke in, only took my PS2 and Saturn games...wtf?). I've been meaning to hit eBay but I would prolly get neg feedback becase NO ONE EVER READS THE DECRIPTIONS.ott0bot wrote:2) It makes it so easy to steal all of you games in one fell swoop. I think you could at least list them on here, people might need to make some games complete and they will know what they are getting. It sucks to get robbed, I've had far too many friends get there collections stolen. And the thieves always steal the stupidist combination of stuff!Majors wrote:I can confirm this also.
