Did You Ever Buy A Console For A Game That Never Came Out?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Did You Ever Buy A Console For A Game That Never Came Out?

Post by racketboy »

I figure somebody here has fallen into this trap before... Every now and then, there is some great game that is supposed to be released that gets some people worked up about a console (or add-on *sega*). But sometimes that game either gets shifted to another platform or just gets canceled completely. (or maybe to a lesser degree, it comes out, but wasn't an exclusive like it was supposed to be)

I always think of this whenever somebody says that they are going to buy a certain console with the excuse of "such and such game is going to be on there", when the game isn't schedule to be released for another 6 months or more....

Only once have I bought a console for one game...and that game has stayed exclusive. It was my Xbox 360 for Dead Rising, and I got to enjoy Condemned while I waited. I was actually pretty glad I did it...until the damn thing broke.

It never happened to me but I guess people that bought a PS3 and already had a Xbox360 for FF13 got a little bunt in the head.

Never happened to me, but my brother bought Zelda Twilight Princess when he couldn't afford a Wii to play it on. He had to sit for months without the system waiting untill he could play it.

My brother and I saved up all our money to get a SNES because the screen shots for Arc the Lad looked so cool. But sadly it never came out. We for got about it pretty quick though becasue of the other great titles like FF2 and Super Metroid. I and still haven't played the Arc the Lad Collection for PS1 with that title on it yet. ha!

I had no idea it was planned for SNES. You really should play it. I beat and loved Arc 1 and 2.

Not really the same, but I sent my mum out to the local gameshop to buy Bomberman Hero for N64 because I had seen a preview of it in a magazine. It came out 2 years after I asked for it :( . Still, she came back with Bomberman 64, so it wasnt't all bad... That game is awesome with 3 friends.

It was on the back of the first SNES box! Saw a write up in Nintendo Power too, it looked sweet.
