Strategy RPG's for Dreamcast
I'm taking my Dreamcast to college with me and I really enjoy playing Strategy RPG's like Shining Force and Final Fantasy Tactics. Are there any decent Strategy RPG's for the Dreamcast that are similar to those games?

Re: Strategy RPG's for Dreamcast
the short answer is no. Time Stalkers sorta has some tactical elements, but I think it's pretty mediocre title. well...you can play shining force on the Sega Smash Pack vol 1.Koopin_Krackerz wrote:I'm taking my Dreamcast to college with me and I really enjoy playing Strategy RPG's like Shining Force and Final Fantasy Tactics. here's another post with the same exact question!
Best Choices I can think of....
PS1 - FF Tactics, Ogre Battle, Brigandine, Hosigami
PS2 - Growlanser Generations, Disgaea 1&2, Stella Deus, La Purcell Tactics
Saturn - Shining Force III, Dragon Force
Genesis - Shining Force 1&2, Warsong, Master of Monsters, Herzog Zwei(more of an RTS)
Sega CD - Shining Force CD, Dark Wizard
GBA - Advance Tactics, FF Tactics, Yggrda Union
PSP - Jeanne D' Arc, FF tactics: lion wars
plus Saturn has quite a few import Tactics games

Hmmm. Thanks. I'll check out Time Stalkers and those Genesis titles. I really need to get a Saturn sometime and quit being so lazy and check past posts. Second time I've done that

The only SRPG I can think of for the Dreamcast is Super Robot Taisen Alpha, and it's in Japanese.
There some great other RPGs for the DC, though.
Elemenal Gimmick Gear [ARPG]
Record of Lodoss War [IRPG]
Phantasy Star Online [MMORPG]
Along with the more-known ones:
Skies of Arcadia
Evolution
Grandia 2

Thanks for all the suggestions. I picked up Skies of Arcadia but I haven't had a chance to play it yet though, been busy with college and hasn't slowed down yet.

get ready for 5,000,000 random battles. it is a good game, and in the second disc you get to avoid almost all random encounters. but seriously i got into so many random battles it took away from the enjoyment of the game. i couldn't play through it again. don't get me wrong it was a great game, but holy shxt were there a ton of random battles.Koopin_Krackerz wrote:Thanks for all the suggestions.
