Who Wants A 3-Month Rental of a DBZ PS2 Game?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Who Wants A 3-Month Rental of a DBZ PS2 Game?

Post by racketboy »

Ok, here's the deal... Atari contacted me and was wondering if I would be interested in reviewing the upcoming Dragonball Z fighting game that is developed by the team behind Street Fighter 2.

It's the first time I've been contacted by a game publisher before, so I said sure.
Now I have a PS2 game to review with no PS2 availible. None of my local friends have one either.

So... is there anyone in the US that would be willing to play the game, review it, and then send it back to me in a few months (or earlier if you get tired of it)?

I'll take your review, add a bit to it if it needs some more body and give you credit it for it. Atari will get their review, and hopefully the site will build a relationship with the publisher.

Lemme know if you are interested.
If more than one person is interested, I will probably choose people with most seniority on the board

I would love reviewing a game... but I'm not into fighters, so alas I would probably not be the best choice. I play them, but my opinion would be much to bias as I prefer RPGs and puzzle games over fighters.

I could most likely get a ton of friends of mine to come over and play rounds and rounds of 2 player though and get mixed reviews from everyone and see what comes together. I'd have to check with all of them first though... and you'd have to agree on it.

I just posted on WorldGroups (my works website) and MySpace to all my friends around South Florida to see who was into it... so let me know. I'd say I could get about a dozen or more hardcore gamers to come over my place and try it out on my bigscreen. (Though none of them are retro gamers... except Pate... :( )

Oh and I'll pay the shipping costs too if you need. Let me just make sure I can get everyone together on it.

A group review would be cool.
Maybe I could give you some different aspects you can fill me in on.
We'll piece together a good review.

The thing is all nice and 3Dish, so if you're buds aren't retro-inclided it should be ok.

I'd be happy to review it for you since I enjoy games that are of the fighting genre. I have the official Playstation joystick made by ASCII which looks like it would work perfectly with this game. Is this the same game that you are offering in your contest which I entered a few minutes ago?

Hardly related, but I just wanted to say I found DBZ Budokai 3 to be a fantastic title all around. Since then, it has been replaced by Tenkaichi Budokai I believe, and then this game, but this one is by a different party, as Racketboy mentions.

Maybe lordofduct can send it to you when he's done (or we can work something out)
But yes, this is the same game that is being offered in the contest.

I'll send it where ever you'd like me too... unless its the moon or something; I don't own a rocket ship or Super Rocket Fuel. If I did I'd be the king of the skies.
