::smashes head on desk repeatedly::
Is there any day now that I can hope for something NEW coming out of the movie industry? It's remake and sequel after remake and sequel. Oh God who has cursed me so?
...
at least there's my videogames.
...
oh wait, nevermind, I forgot about the latest E3. Remake after sequel after remake after sequel.

Or the 9000 Scary Movie/______ Movie Sequels. They're like mogwais. Glad they are finally making a proper sequel to Tron. Not like that "game" they made call Tron 2.0indecks wrote:This looks really cool though, and it's a sequel to a movie that came out 24 years ago, so it's not like it's one of the 300000000000 Saw sequels.

We are still plagued with these remakes, sequels, and "re-envisions".indecks wrote:This looks really cool though, and it's a sequel to a movie that came out 24 years ago, so it's not like it's one of the 300000000000 Saw sequels.
Batman
King Kong
All those stupid jap horror movies that are americanized
"I am Legend" aka "the last man on earth" aka "omega man"
Terminator
etc, etc, I'm to lazy to list a ton of them
come on
Oh god. I'd be overjoyed (loved the movie and play the lightcycle game Armagetron a lot), but I just know it's not going to even compare to the original. There's just no way they'd make something good out of it, it sounds to me like they were running out of ideas for new movies and were like "Hey, we made Tron right? How about a sequel? It might sell. Let's go toss together something almost resembling the original."
Call me a skeptic, but I just can't be excited for movies any more. There's like one or two movies a year that are actually great memorable movies, and a whole lot of crap.

this space intentionally left blank.
The worst was Transformers....why couldn't they leave that animated.lordofduct wrote:We are still plagued with these remakes, sequels, and "re-envisions".indecks wrote:This looks really cool though, and it's a sequel to a movie that came out 24 years ago, so it's not like it's one of the 300000000000 Saw sequels.

I hear they got Jeff Bridges again....that's pretty sweet.
OK I have to say something. Transformers was nearly perfect. What did people want from it? A deep story? Come on. It's a movie based on a cartoon show that's based on several toy lines from Japan. What was the show about? Big robots that transform into cars and beat the shit out of each other. What did we get? Big robots that transform into cars and beat the shit out of each other. I don't understand why people complain about that. Michael Bay or no... it was 99% dead on to the show and it was a great movie.
And an animated transformers? You mean like the steaming pile of turds that they released recently called "Transformers Animated"? I can see the pitch meeting so vividly:
As far as reimaginings go - Remove Batman from there because as far as I'm concerned, Batman 89, Returns, Forever and 'And Robin' don't exist. That's one reimagining that works, and works well. Have you even seen the Dark Knight?

And the response from the esteemed Cartoon Network Execs:PitchGuys: OK guys.. we got this idea for a new TF show. We want it to be drawn and animated as cheaply, and grotesquely as humanly possible. When they transform, we're thinking 2 to 5 frames of animation - TOPS. We want it to reference the original G1 series, even so far as to show clips of the G1 show in the pilot, but that's it. After that it's a completely different story and the history that they show DOES NOT APPLY to this new series. Oh, also - I want Ratchet to be in the series and have been in the 'great war', but again - HISTORY DOES NOT APPLY.
Also, we are thinking of making Optimus Prime (you know, the leader and all-around badass?) a noobie coal miner guy that waves around a hammer/axe thingy, and we want him to have a shady past. Like he got some robots killed in the past or some shit. Also, he has to be real stupid and young and 'wet behind the ears'.
Lastly, we want Spongebob Squarepants and Patrick Star to do voices for this show.
If you haven't watched this HORRID monstrosity, you're one of the lucky ones.SOLD!

Different origins for the transformers.
Shity plot.
Bumblebee as a Camaro.
Megatron not a gun.
It totally sucked.
