Today I turned on my Wii and noticed some black "snow" or pixels all over the Wii menu screen. So I entered the Wii shop channel to see if it was maybe a connection error with the cables or something else. Once at the shop screen I still saw snow, but not as much. I will try a game later... but I was wondering if anyone else has seen this problem?

I called Nintendo tech support and the emailed me a shipping label. It looks like this is a known problem and they are going to fix it or ship a new Wii out. The good thing is that my warranty starts over for a year when the Wii is fixed.

This happened to my Wii too. Its caused by graphics chip overheating, and you can often see the dots during gameplay as well (they'll eventually go green). I shipped it off to Nintendo in Richmond and got a brand new one back. Sounds like its a well known issue among Nintendo customer support staff.
