Improving Together Retro - Need Your Feedback

Post by racketboy »

I'm hoping to get some feedback on how you like different parts of Together Retro. Here are some specific questions that I'd like to get feedback on.
What do you think of the TR blog posts? Is there information that routinely don't care about/could be left off? What would be beneficial to add?
Do you have ideas on how to organize score ranking or something similar so we can have a bit more competition on certain games?

I have an idea... we could give ranks for certain scores and have images people could use in their signatures for each game. This would give bragging rights and such. I would be all for making the images as long as I know a week in advance.

Think of it like the ranking system we currently have for posts, we could predetermine similar stats and ranks for each game.
Keeping track would either have to be honor system, or since we all are fairly good with a screenshot/digital image and free sites like imageshack we can have a thread for proof.

Also I can look into a mysql type of leaderboard program... but that may be a hassle... I like badges for signatures.

Awesome idea -- just not sure how to pull it off.
I suppose I could bring it up to my programmer

Personally I liked what we did with Defender, where one guy was making a High Scores image to represent who was where in the ladder. Plus, since it was done in the style of the game, it felt more like a competition in it...good times.

I would always like more suggestions on where I can find a game and how much it'll cost me, but then again, that's just me being lazy.

I liked that as well.
And I can possibly include a shopping help in the upcoming calendar if nothing else.

Hmmm. Perhaps we could make checkpoints for games. For instance, after a week of a new game you should be past the first level. It wouldn't be forced but it would be a good way of having people talk about the same things. I also like the idea of an achievement-esque addition.
