Emulation on Gameboy Advance

Post by LoneCynic »

I have been considering purchasing one of those flash carts for the GBA and setting up an NES emulator for play on it. Can anyone familiar with the process recommend a good Emulator/Flash Cart combonation that they've had success with? I am also interested in compatability of the Emu/Cart combo with the Nintendo DS and especially compatability with the Gamecube's Gameboy Player. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Any GBA flash cart will work on the DS. There's basically a GBA in the DS anyway.

dealextreme.com has a flashcard for 9.21 with free shipping. From what ive read its one of the few cards that the saveing works for pockets nes. Its only 16 megs though but that should be fine for some nes action. I ordered one but shipping takes for freakin ever cause its right outta hong kong.(like up to three weeks long....) Besides that they have lots of other cards that are super cheap. The only reliable hong kong import site I know of. 8)

If you intend to get a DS relatively soon, perhaps it's wiser to hold off and get a slot 1 flashcard for the DS - the price per memory is much better because they use regular micro SD cards for storage, so you pay for the "adapter" and the storage separately. And you can run GBA stuff with the relatively cheap 3 in 1 which has also rumble and so on.

The DS will emulate anything better than the GBA as well.

Yes, I would recommend to take a Flashcart for DS too. I just bought one and NES emulation works fine. Even some SNES Games with good settings do work. For this is the GBA too weak.
