NGP + NGPC

Post by jemsic »

I love these little things! I got some great ebay deals on them and bought 3 systems brand new recently:
Stone Blue NGPC
Anthracite NGPC
Jap Clear NGP

I have to say that the one I play most is the Clear monochrome one. Its slightly smaller than the others. The only game I have is kof: r2 though. I really want metal slug.

The graphics may not be up to par with the gba, but its definitely a gamer's system. The control is great for king of fighters. I've played all the games on emulators and they are all gems. I can't believe they go so cheap on ebay.

Now that the new DS design has been revealed, I'm really looking toward picking up a NGPC and the new DS (when its released)

This would be an alternative to a GBA Micro and GPX2

Did you buy all three of them from the same auction?
Are you still attached to all three? :D

How easy to see is the screen in dim lighting?
I know it's not backlit, but I'm hoping that its better than my original GBA

I got the two color versions in the same auction brand new. The auction (had no pictures) said they were both platinum blue, but it turned out that one was stone blue, and one was anthracite (carbon fiber). Also what was weird was the box said batteries included, but there were no batteries in the box even though it was sealed.
The monochrome japanese one was from a second auction.

The monochrome one is pretty easy to see in any lighting because it has a contrast dial. But the color version don't have the contrast dial, and they're harder to see. I would say its slightly easier to see than the original GBA.

And I'm pretty attached to them. They're just so well built and all made in japan. I bought the official case and neck strap and a link cable for them. I just need a second king of fighters game to play link cable.

Check with Amazon.com since they are still selling some stuff for the system. I just bought 2 official SNK Neo Geo Pocket AC adapters from them.

The NGPC is one of my fav systems of all time because of the games. I put more hours into SNK vs Capcom Card Fighters Clash than even Dragon Warrior III. I recommend that everyone try the Metal Slugs, SNK vs Capcom Match of the Millenium, SNK vs Capcom Card Fighters Clash, and Sonic. (even if you have to emulate them)
