How much is this damn thing (n-gage) worth?
Sorry to post this in the whatever forum instead of a perhaps more appropriate forum, but there are only a few hours left so I want to get a fast opinion.
How much is this N-gage auction worth?

I want one with some of those games but this seems to be a bit high.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!

That's way high. I've bought 2 N-Gage back in the day (lost the first one to a washing machine) and never paid more than 100€ for either. Sure, they both came without games, but still. I'm not sure what an N-Gage costs nowadays, but it should never be that much.
By the way, are you sure you want a NG QD? I'm just asking because, although that version is usually regarded by fans as the best, I absolutely prefer the original model. It has a USB port to connect to the pc and, more important, it has big ass buttons, great for my huge hands. I tried a friend's QD and I just couldn't play it properly because the buttons were just too small for me.

Hmm, good points--I had just assumed the QD was better. I don't have very big hands so I'm not too concerned about that, but the USB option sounds like a plus. I'm having a hard time finding an N-gage outside of ebay for a reasonable price. I might just get lazy and bid on this to get one, though.NebachadnezzaR wrote:That's way high. The other point is that on the original model, it is much harder to change the game. I have a QD model that I bought used and never really played myself. I also have about a dozen games, most of them still sealed. I am thinking about trying to sell them off.General Chaos wrote:Hmm, good points--I had just assumed the QD was better. You should try to figure out which one is better for your taste, but I went for a QD myself and I don't even use it as a mobile (got a U.S. one, and the QD doesn't catch the European frequencies). Most people have a card reader nowadays, and probably also a music player... So the advantages of the original model are perhaps not so important. Depends on the user.General Chaos wrote:Not bad. I'll be watching that one as well.

Well if you want to play the games rather than collect them then you can put a lot of the games onto a single 2gb MMC card and just run them off there. That removes the original N-Gage's problem with changing games and as I said before somewhere, the original N-Gage's controls are some of the best I have ever used. I have an original N-Gage but it got the WSOD, so I need to reflah it some time. Here's some advice if you do get an N-Gage. DO NOT FILL THE INTERNAL MEMORY!!!!! That is the cause of the WSOD and it cannot be repaired without a reflash.

Thanks. I'd read about the WSOD but didn't know anything about the cause. So the original has better controls than the QD? Can the QD run games off of the mmc as well? I will collect the games as well but I'd still rather play them from the MMC to avoid swapping out the games.
Thanks for help with all of this.
