a buddy of mine recently picked up a vectrex at a thrift store for a couple bucks and gave it to me. Its that system made by milton bradley back in the early 80s / late 70s.
it comes with minestorm pre programed into which is just an asteroids clone. Super fun.
My question to other vectrex users is this: what other decent games are out there for it? What should i keep an eye out for? I'm only 26 years old so this system was well before my time. Its also so old that there arn't too many resources for the games out there for it. I found one place that listed a few, but figured I'd extend to the racketboy community for second opinions and info.
cool. I've never been to the gametz site. Its just a huge community of games for swap? Think i should join, i got a few things for swap that i've just been lazy about posting.
it's fun you need good communication skills and patience. if it works for you'll get addicted. books, dvds and compact discs ans also traded/sold there.
^^ My Available List ^^ My B/S/T list
I also rent and sell PS2, Wii and XBOX softmod-kits and I collect DVD movies let me know what you have.

starting to get a little steep for such simple (but admittedly addicting) games. Especially some games that don't come with the overlays. Since there really isn't an "must have" games for it, i think i'm just going to wing it and pick up stuff that I randomly find at thrift stores.
To be honest, with emulation I can play almost anything retro so easily (even the not so popular vectrex). SO the collector comes out in me more than the player with the original carts.

Anyone else got one? love it? hate it?
Wow I think I've seen that system once in some pictures of a game museum. That's pretty cool but do my eyes decieve me or are those the game backrounds on the right? Would you actually have to swap the game backrounds plus the cartriges to play the games?

check out the youtube video in the link. It shoes a guy playing 'spike'. I guess they were laminated sheets of plastic to throw some color on the vectrex or maybe re-enforce the esthetics of the game you are playing. I know that in addition to that, the minestorm one had the controls on it two. What each button did for that particular game. Kinda neat, and also why i'm not really interested in buying the multi cart.
If i start picking games for it up, i want to get those sheets too. You know- go big or go home.
