looking for one that is tested to work with 2D controllers (i.e. joysticks) and does not produce lag for fighters.
PS2 to PS3 controller adapter recommendation?

Anyone have a PS2 to PS3 USB controller adapter solution they are particularly fond of? That works for third party stuff like joysticks?

Any PS2 to USB adaptor will work 100%.
I've got a PS2 to USB adaptor that I bought about 4 years before the PS3 even came out that works.
Don't get suckered into PS2 -> PS3 adaptors. They're no different. Just rebranded to make Noobs think that they need them

i've read that certain ps>usb don't read all button presses. also the new ones actually have the memory card slot, i assume that's the main reason to want it now.

I'll have to try mine. thanks
Well if it has the memory card slot then that's fair enough. However, a lot of them (at least in this country) are just repackaged PS2 - USB converters minus the driver disk AKA not worth the extra money.
I'd just try your existing one if you already have one. What have you got to lose? You'd be daft to just assume that you need another one just because the packaging deems it necessary.
