If the UK hookups run consistent with the US ones than the answer is no. In the US the Model 1 and Model 2 had completely different hookups. The model 1 however has identical hookups to both the NES and SNES for the AC Adapter and RF Adapter, in the US anyways.

both A/C adapters are different (the model 2 is smaller).

Also the Model 1 uses the old Amiga 9-pin din connector for A/V and regular RF out like the NES. Model 2 uses a custom mini-din connector. The reason for the change is to supply stereo out of the A/V connector, which the model 1 did not have.

Finding A/V connectors for the model 1 is a little difficult, not real hard, but harder then model 2 cables. You're best be is to search for SMS video connectors instead.

What's so special about this Mega Drive? Model 1's are easy to come across... though with composite A/V connectors, not so easy.

Per the guys item description:
"This console will cost £5.50 postage, it will be wrapped in bubble wrap and strong brown wrapping paper.
If you would like this sent to Europe it will cost £7.25 again it will wrapped in bubble wrap and strong brown wrapping paper."

But he's in England... Once again, the Brittish thinking they're not part of Europe~

nothing special about this one i have a mega drive 2 but i´ve always wanted a model 1 so i figured this offer could be a cheap way of getting one if the hookups i have already would have worked but im sure i´ll come across a better deal someday. Thanks for the info :D

Yes but if you look at an atlas we are quite separate to Europe. Besides he's quite right, shipping to europe is different to postage in England. Say if you were shipping something from Devon to say Calais, it would cost more than posting it to Newcastle. Yet as the crow flies it's less distance for it to travel over seas. Yet it's more expensive. It's the medium that the item travels through rather than a continent divide.

Atlas?? :o Twas a joke mon frère. C'mon, Japan is part of Asia yet it's farther from the mainland than England and France are apart. You guys even have a tunnel connecting the isle and the continent. I merely was amused by his wording as it refelcts how I've often heard Brits and Japanese claim to be independant of their major continental grouping just because they are an island nation.

And yeah, shipping is messed up no matter where you ship. Like from Canada to Japan is cheaper than Canada to the US most times.
