Saturn region patcher breaks my ISOs?

Post by Munkee915 »

I have 2 ISOs that were coded J and EU. I wanna patch em to US so i can play them on my US saturn. But first i always test in SSF so i dont go about making lots of coasters. Now both these ISOs load fine if i boot up SSF in their respective region. But for some reason if i use the region patcher to patch them to US, SSF loads them as an audio CD (in US region). If i patch them back they work fine. I have used the region patcher on several other games w/ no problems. Its just these 2 that are giving me a hard time. Any idea what could be causing this?

What's the format of the image file(s)? I found out (the hard way) that whenever I tried to patch a .bin/.cue it always messed up the image, so I have to convert it to .iso first and then patch it.

Saturn region patcher has not failed me once. How do you know the image was not faulty to begin with?

Sorry, I didn't get the 'emulation' part. I was speaking about real hardware. Sorry!

Sometimes Region Patcher will currupt sectors 150 and 151 of a .bin/.cue image. Its easy to fix, after you patched, run CDMage and scan sectors 000150 and 000151 for curruption. If they are currupt right click both sectors and select "rebuild sector fields". Burn it and you should be ok. (don't pick "repair sectors"'' - it will set the image back it is original region)

I have tried with SSF _several_ patched from US/Japan to Europe and it always worked nicely. And all I tried worked on my Saturn as well. The only one that didn't work was one I forgot to patch from Japan to Europe and burned anyway *blush* (I think it was even a 2 CD one, doh).

YES! That was it exactly! Worked like a charm. Thanks so much! I have used the region patched tons of times and never had this issue until now, and i hit 2 in a row. O well. But thanks so much!
