Cranky Saturn Pro Action Replay

Post by crackoaf »

I bought a saturn pro action replay a few years ago. I have had a lot of trouble getting it to work, although it has actually functioned consistently over that period. My main thing is that i only use it every couple months, and i keep forgetting how i get it to actually work. When i boot up a game with it in i rarely get the action replay menu. Should I be holding down certain buttons? My cartridge slot feels a little uneven, could that be the problem? Again, once in a blue moon I do actually get it to load up and I basically only use it to backup saves.

I get the same thing sometimes what I do is turn it off ajust the cartridge a little in the slot turn on and repeat until it works. The slot on some Saturns is picky like the old nes slot hope this helps.

Many 3rd party carts, Pro Action Replay included, use poor quality cart connectors and can damage the Saturn's cart slot by inflicting extra wear.

that happens to me alot, its picky. Just read somewhere not to leave a game inside the nes and had one for months in don't know if this seems reasonable or not so just wondering about the satunr because I use it once in a while every other month. Should I take the cart out and not leave it in all the time?

I'm thinking the opposite for the saturn. the more you pull that cart in and out of the slot the weaker the pins get. I've had my action replay in for like 2 and half years and never had a problem. Maybe the pins in your cart slot are loose or dirty and it's not making a proper connection?
