Does the Wii use the same cables as a Snes or Gamecube
Im curious cause if it does radioshack has a cable thatll work for my gamecube so i can output in HD for only 20 bux
Older. Not wiser.
Most Gamecubes also support Component. It uses a different port than the others.ott0bot wrote:Correct me if I'm wrong but i think the best output you can get for a gamecube is s-vid or composite video. Even if it will hook up it wont output anything through the HDMI cable.
Later models of the Cube had that port removed.

Well thats wierd...I don't think mine has the component hook-up.
Nope they dont -- Nintendo was trying to cut costs at the end.ott0bot wrote:Then later models don't suport component?racketboy wrote:Most Gamecubes also support Component. Most people never used it as the Component cables were only available (for $50?) on Nintendo's site and no third-party ones were made.

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.

I still think their handling of the digital port was one of the biggest fuckups in Nintendo's history. They severely limited the supply, both in terms of quantity and purchase methods, they wouldn't let third parties make their own, and then they bitched about how few people were using the component cables, so they axed the port. Who's to blame for this, I wonder.
