Burning DC games
Burning DC games
I'm getting my first DC tomorrow, and I have a question about burning the games to a CD-R. The CDs I have are 700mb, and a lot of DC games seem to be around 750mb or so. Are the files compressed in burning (or do they need to be compressed?) or do I need to buy a different type of disk? Thanks in advance for any help

The only game I can think of that requires 99min cdrs is D2, which isn't exactly a stellar game anyways. Everything else will fit on a regular 700mb cdr, although many games have downsampled/ripped audio and video. Most of the time you can't notice it when playing on a regular TV, but if you are using a VGA box then you will be able to tell the difference in video quality right away. The reason why some game ISOs are like 750 mb is not because that is the actual amount of data being written to the disc, it is because the iso file itself often needs to store information. If you load the iso into a burning app, you'll see that the amount of data being written to the disc will be less than 700mb or it will be something like 79.xx mins out of 80 mins. Most games are "dummied" (a file that contains no data) so that he real game data is pushed to the outside of the disc to reduce wear. Ooga Booga is something like 50mb compressed, but uncompressed it is the size of a regular game.
Thanks man, I reied looking for some of those on newegg and TigerDirect but couldn't find them.selfdestroyer wrote:Could start here

Got my DC now. I've burned a Utopia disc which works fine, but none of my actual games that I burn are working. Could someone post their method for burning? The one I'm following uses DiscJuggler, and I'm not really sure what settings I'd use on say, Nero. If there's already a thread on this, could someone link me to it?
