Just started to upgrade my collection of PSX games and was racking my brain for games of my childhood when a a thought struck me.
(sorry couldn't resist)
Medievil. I had played it on a demo disc a friend had at his house for about 20 mins and for some reason it stuck in my head. I just found it and completed the 1st two levels. It seems like good fun still and the graphics aren't as bad as I expected them to be, seems to be holding up ok! Does anyone else have any thoughts or memories of this game or it's sequel?

Actually it's Medievil. I didn't play it when it was released (I never had a PSX), but still without the nostalgia factor I had some fun playing it a couple of years ago on an emulator. Got to try and finish it one day.
Great game, I always thought the gameplay was slightly unpolished, but it was very funny and had a wonderful Tim Burton atmosphere to it. I especially loved trying to fill the chalice in each stage to get everyone in the hall of heroes. Great game all the way through.
I never played the second one, I heard it was pretty good but a little different from the original
I remember getting this game, along with Tenchu and Wild 9 many years ago. I had great fun with all three games and when I remember one I tend to think of the other two as well.
I played Medievil before release on the demo disc Pizza Hutt gave out in '98. I really enjoyed it. I also nearly pissed in my pants when I heard of a sequel. Unfortunately, I never had the money to get either the original or the sequel.
I apologise, I hate it when other people do simple spelling mistakes, bit of a hypocrite (yes I had to look up how to spell that), I'm useless at spelling! I'll change it now
Outstanding games. Some of the best platforming on the PS1.

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.
Both are great fun. They both have occassional silly levels of difficulty which are magnified by somewhat sloppy controls. The controls are only a problem in tough spots or when you need precise control, but that's usually when you need them most. Jumping over water really sucks because if you miss the jump, you die.
Still, the first one is one of my all-time favorites!
