Okay, looking to get a SONY Bravia XBR4 but concerned about visual performance downgrade I could potentially get from my existing Sony SDTV setup.
I'm concerned specifically about LAG.
Can anyone please give feedback on how well Wii is working with your 46 or 52 inch LCD tv, please.
What kind of issues have you encountered and should I really stick with CRT for Wii?
Wii and LCD HDTV's looking for general advice....

I 'had' HAD a Wii hooked up to a 32" Sony LCD TV 1080i and there was no lag at all. Generally lag is now gone in HD TV's below 50". If your going with a Sony you probably dont have really anything to worry about, the ones you might worry about are the budget HDTV's (Visio in perticular).
Older. Not wiser.
Yeah, I'm trying to decide between a 46 and a 52 inch XBR4. Does size effect lag?RyaNtheSlayA wrote:I 'had' HAD a Wii hooked up to a 32" Sony LCD TV 1080i and there was no lag at all. Are there any other visual problems to worry about?

Do you have a seperate upscaler or is this the tv's?Ramatut4001 wrote:I have a 46" Samsung LCD and our Wii looks pretty good. Widescreen 480p upscaled to 1080P. I've never experienced any lag.
Unfortuanately I've gotten these responses so far on another board:
XBR4:
I have an XBR 4 and it doesnt NOT look good on it, component cables and all.
I've tried to mess with the picture settings and overall its just not a good match. Just play the Wii on an SDTV.
Damn, I really want to get that tv. Are there any solutions for this? I'm not buying a $2000 upscaler.I've got it, simply, play the Wii on a CRT if you can, it really isn't meant for hdtv's, which is kind of annoying. even with component cables and 16:9 set, it still looks bad. I've also connected my wii to my 42" plasma, and for some reason the top and bottom of the screen gets cut off, not too much, but it doesn't all fit inside the screen.

I'm just using the TV's upscaler with component cables. Of course it doesn't look like a 720p game on my PS3 or 360. It really depends on the game, too. A friend brought Soul Calibur Legends over the other day and it was jaggy as hell. Mario Galaxy looks really good but again it's 480p so you're going to have more pixelation and jaggies.
