Genesis-To-USB Controller Adapters?

It's as if some magical force swooped down and stole them all! I have had absolutely no luck finding any kind of adapter for using Genesis controllers on the PC... and please, don't point me toward Retrozone... I ordered an NES adapter, and it's taking forever for them to ship it, and their FAQ is downright rude, and besides, they don't even have anything for Sega at the moment. Of course Lik-Sang went away quite a while ago as well, so does anyone out there know where you can find one of these adapters that still exists or carries them?

Had the same trouble as you, my solution was a Saturn controller and a Saturn to USB converter, it's being shipped now so I can't really comment on how it feels but the Saturn controller is very similar in design to the Genisis so I hope it'll be a good substitute.

Granted, it's not the best looking cable in the world, but it supports Sega Master System, Genesis, and Atari controllers. It also says "Atari-style joysticks." Since the Sega Genesis and Atari 2600 use modified parallel ports, (IIRC, it might be serial ports.) I'm guessing it means any controller that uses a modified Parallel port.

andymol21: Thanks, but I'm going for pure nostalgia... besides, I already have one of those Nubytech Street Fighter controllers for the Xbox that I spliced to a USB cable, which actually makes an awesome controller for general purpose emulation as it actually has 6 face buttons all Sega style, but I wanna have the real thing... I'm thinking one 3-button and two 6-button, just to cover all of my bases

GSZX1337: You are my hero... I'd seen that a couple other places, but they were sold out... hopefully by the time I get one of these, this place won't be. It's nice to see it'll do Atari as well, though I figured any of those made for the Genny would work, since the U/D/L/R are the same, and the Atari's button works the same as the Genny's B button... when I was a kid, I used to boot up Sonic, get it started with the regular controller, and then swap in an Atari controller and play with that just for sh*ts and giggles.

Yes, but it has fewer buttons so it's less useful. Sonic 1 is perfectly playable with a master system controller at least.

Yeah, I would imagine that the few buttons on the SMS controller would work as like A and B or B and C or whatever on the Genny... best way to find out is to just try it out (probably easier said than done if you don't have one at hand).
