DC + CD-Rs
I've heard that using CD-Rs wear out the drive or lens on DCs. Anyone found that to be true?
Well, here's the last time it was asked:

My guess is that it does. I had a GD-ROM go bad recently, to the point where it wouldn't read ANY CDr media, but the truth is, buying a new DC and replacing the GD-ROM is inexpensive. I bought some POS DC for a few bucks (all yellowed case, gross, etc), swapped the GD-ROM, and I'm a-go again.

You dont think it just went bad naturally? You think CD-Rs killed it? All moving mechanical parts die eventually, especially in game consoles.HeavyMetalMe wrote:My guess is that it does.
