High Score and Chasing Ghosts: Beyond the Arcade

Post by Guinness »

By now I'm sure everyone here has seen The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters, a very good documentary about Steve Wiebe and Billy Mitchell competing for the high score/world record in Donkey Kong. It's a must see if you grew up in the arcade era or are just a fan of classic arcade games. There are however two more similar documentaries that have hit Sundance but to my knowledge have not seen a release. They are High Score and Chasing Ghosts: Beyond the Arcade.

High Score

Chasing Ghosts: Beyond the Arcade

Has anyone seen these two films? While I know they do not have a commercial release sometimes Sundance and independent films will air on the Sundance Channel or can be leaked to torrents, so if anyone knows where I can find this let me know. I really, really, really can't wait to see these, and sadly they may never have a commercial release.

Thanks

After doing an extensive goggle search only found the official sites. Looks like it was only shown at Sundance and gaming conventions. It appears that there is no official DVD yet. Not unless there is a torrent of a screener or cam.

Lets hope there is a torrent out there, or they get a commercial release, I have heard nothing but good things about both. I also hear Chasing Ghosts: Beyond the Arcade is superior to King of Kong, and showcases more arcade titles and gamers. I notice Billy Mitchell, Walter Day and Steve Sanders all appear in it as well. It'll be cool to see them in a different light than King of Kong painted, telling more stories about the golden era of arcade gaming.
