Musicians - share your music

Post by glynnahab »

Although I haven't been here long, I've noticed that a lot of you guys are musicians and/or are in bands. I'm curious to see what kinds of stuff you guys play. (Sorry if a thread like this has already existed...)

My last full-blown band was an instrumental post-rock band called AHAB!.

AHAB!

I also had a side project, which unfortunately was better than my main band. (Didn't realize it until it was over... Oops.)

I was in an experimental band that played hardcore fence-post music with spirit levels and cheese.

I'm a sound engineer now though.

Although i've now got the concept for the next HCMF
I'm in a ska band at the moment called bag of ska. No website though. We don't need one, get plenty of gigs as it is.

i make electronic noises on my PC (well I have two external synths), mainly very influenced by old hardcore (as in Acen not Minor Threat ;) ) and old German 'hard' acid type music (i.e. Hardfloor), although tbh I usually sound nothing like them. I suppose I'm pretty much into any hard electronic or dance music between 1987 and 93 or so.

I've got some home recordings on a myspace page. Just click on the link in my signature.
I'm in another group right now, some of my songs and some of my friends. Mosty pscyh-folk type stuff. We've just been practicing, no recordings or shows yep. But i'll post something when we get there....

I've never been really into folk-type stuff, but I really like this. It kind of reminds me of a more focused, less avant-garde Godspeed You! Black Emperor with all the ambient sounds and effects. Massive props!

What kind of delay pedal are you using on the guitar on "Savages"?

Thanks for listening. I'm using a Boss ME-30 pedal for all of it, and I used alot of tremolo! I love the Constelation records stuff especailly Do Make Say Think. I missed 2 God Speed shows, then they didn't come back to phoenix. have you seen them live?

I've been making music for about a year and a half now, off and on (I haven't even completed 10 tracks yet). Here's my page with some of my *early* stuff (Top song is only a month old, though)

www.myspace.com/lodestarsounds

I plan to add more music, but that's all I have at the moment. Doubt it'll appeal to anyone here, but whatever.

Cool stuff. I really like Wistful West. Are the samples your own or is it all just midi?
Do your self a big favor and check out Roots of Orchis. One of my favorites.
