Bad Influence! was a mid 1990s British television series on Home Compute consoles, and video game consoles. For example Atari ST, Jaguar, in order leading up to the last season where the 'Ultra 64' was going to be released.

They have some episodes online-http://www.bad-influence.co.uk/

...I've never seen a show that said the PSX was the first CD-based system. They always focus on the popular systems and companies, sure, but that's where the money is.

Iain Lee (Presenter of Thumb Bandits, a half decent video game (p)review show) did a decent one on the history of video games starting right at the beginning with space war that was run from like a mile of paper roll into an interpreter.

It was called Thumb Candy, and it can be found in various parts all over the web. It was quite interesting. I stayed up watching it when it first aired (it was aired at like 0100 as nobody would want to watch it apart from gamer nerds, accordign to Channel 4!)

I have it on VHS somewhere...

Playstation was the first CD-based system and I've never heard of a Saturn, 3DO, or a Neo Geo myself. It sounds like they have an authoritive knowledge base on the history of gaming and we should shower them with our praises and have Gordon Shumway present them with the Swedish bikini team.

Seriously though, what site/group/TV station put that pile together?

The PC-Engine/TurboGrafx-16 was the first console to have an optional CD module (1988), Amiga CD32 (1993) roughly when all cd-based systems were spewing out. As for the entirely CD based console (not extension) would be Phillips CD-i released in 1991.
