Retro Roundup: What Do You Think?

Post by racketboy »

I'm trying a new monthly thing on the blog:
http://www.racketboy.com/retro/2008/04/ ... -2008.html

What do you think?
Interesting? Useful?

Suggestions?

Yes, definitely interesting and useful. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got a bunch of stuff I need to go read...

Very useful. It's great to see a summary of all the stuff I want to read and there is nothing I have to skip over.

What's the original consoles have to do with a roundup of articles? :)

I think this is great. I never have time to read all the gaming news and reviews. Condensing into a "must read" type post is superb. I'm really glad you put the Harcore Gaming 101 guys on there too, they do really good reviews.

I do have two suggestions.
1-It would be cool if you did one exclusive review each month for a game that came out with a retro feel. Consule or virtual. Or is that better on another post entirely...

2-Quick links to the different sections. Like a NEWS, GAME, of ROUND-UP button so you don't have to scroll though the whole page. Or is that the point, you want them to read it all!

Just some ideas, but I really like it. Great Idea

EDIT: I totally forgot my most important suggestion. Make sure to mention what games we played for together retro!

Just another thing that keeps this site heads and shoulders above the rest. I especially enjoy the flashback to the featured articles from a year ago. (Y'know, being a noob and all...)

My only "complaint" is that the Retro Round-up will cause me to get even less work done. I was a studious and responsible employee before I discovered this site..... If I ever get fired, I'm blaming it on racketboy. :P

Yeah, "Racketboy Rewind" is a nice touch. Highlighting past articles should prove useful to readers like me who jumped into the site midstream. I never saw that "Maximus Arcade" article before, for example.
