Suggest a SNK fighter for me

Post by Doctor Fugue »

I played the original Fatal Fury and a couple others when they first came out years ago but I never got into SNK fighters. Can anyone suggest a good one for me to get started?

I've always played Street Fighter and Guilty Gear games so any tips on how SNK games are different would be great.

Yeah if you liked SF3 at all, then Garou is your best bet. Both games did a great job of reinventing what its series stands for. They focus on cutting edge sprite animation, and maintaining a very balanced fighting system that's easy to get into but hard to master. You won't get far in either by button mashing.

Thanks! Is the MAME version of MOTW accurate? I'm going to try it out before I pick up a copy.

I would like to own a real copy. For MOTW, there seem to be 2 import versions and the US version. Are there any big differences, like bug fixes or anything?
