you are an odd guy raz... really are.

I was at RJD2 last night in Hollywood. Great show, though I got very annoyed when he did a Zelda cover... I mean, hasn't this retro game covers gotten old yet? And Zelda of all things! Come on, get more creative!

I've heard dj's mix straight clips of some older games like ToeJam and Earl into their tracks. They don't make it obvious, but the trained ear can catch it. Now that I appreciate... but a blatant "HEY, LOOK, I'M RETRO" just bugs me.

not to pick fun at your models. It just reminded me of it from last night.

RJD2 is too good. I got into him earlier this year, and have been trying to find as much stuff by him as I can. A link to that zelda cover would be pretty rad. I found a live bootleg of Aesop Rock with RJ on the wheels, and it's pretty sick, although the quality of the recording isn't that great.

sorry to hijack your topic raz, but yeah rjd2 is pretty good, I've got 7 of his albums. I was disappointed by the Third Hand, but i like that hes continuing to experiment.

did I really take this whole thread out with a comment about RJD2? Wow... I didn't even know that many people like him. Most people I talk to are like "R2 whata who, isn't that a robot in star wars?"

7 albums?!?! I only have The Third Hand, Magnificent City, Since We Last Spoke, and Dead Ringer. What other three does he have? I can't get enough of his stuff.

I've got quite a few,

Deadringer
The Horror
Since We Last Spoke
The Third Hand
and 8 Million Stories (though this is more or less a Soul Position album then RJD2... Blueprint raps over each track... but RJD2 spins all the tracks).

I know of quite a few others, I just haven't gotten my hands on them. How is magnificent city? I wanted to grab it, but never did.

Deadringer, Since We Last Spoke and The Third Hand are his only full length albums. The rest are instrumentals, remixes and singles.

Stuff like:

Your Face or your Kneecaps
Lobster and Scrimp
or Loose Ends
