16 pin cd rom in a 32 pin saturn

I just switched a 32 pin cd rom out for a 16 pin one to see if it fixed my flicker thing, also just to see if it would be compatible. Both cd roms were from model 2 saturns. I was surprised that it works, it also seems to have improved the screen-change flicker, although it isnt gone.

Maybe this compatibility is nothing new to yall, but I just thought it might be valuable info for somebody looking to replace a cd rom drive.

i appreciate it, i was always wondering if the drives were swappable.

now the question is if i put a 16 pin drive in a saturn that came with a 32, can i mod it? the world may never know....
