Ever benefitted from an incorrectly filled ebay order?

So recently I ordered two Sega Genesis games on ebay from the seller ElectricQuarter. I used this seller to buy Phantom 2040, and noticed the seller had many other games in the .01 cent range. Getting caught up in the fact that some bids were starting at .01 as were unlikely to get bid on, I placed a bid on Rocket Knight Adventures, forgetting that I already bought a copy of it almost two years ago. I realized it and it was too late so once I won the auction I decided to also add on Ecco the Dolphin since it was $1.75 Buy It Now, and together I could get a little bit of reduced shipping. The total paid including shipping $6.73, I was a little disappointed about a second copy of Rocket Knight Adventures, but oh well...

Today the package and I open it to find four individually wrapped Black Gamecube extension cables, score! I think I'll just hang onto them and acquire a copy of Ecco the Dolphin at a later date.

Anyone else had an experience like this?

What about the person who did buy those extension cables? Perhaps a better course of action would be to point out the error to the seller and see what they would like you to do with them.

One time I ordered a video card, and the seller sent me two. I contacted them about it, but they said not to worry about it even though I offered to send one back to them.

Mistakes happen and if you want to be honest, I would contact the seller. Have them send you a link to a new shipping label and send the cables back. I can't stand dishonest sellers and don't let yourself get lumped into that category. Who knows he may just say "keep 'em."

That happened to me on Amazon Marketplace. I was waiting ages for a CD to come so I emailed them about it saying that I hadn't received it yet. They said that they would send me another copy. They sent me another copy of the DVD that I ordered at the same time, which had already come. So I told them about it and they just sent me another copy of the CD and told me not to worry about the extra DVD as it was surplus stock and wasn't worth them paying the shipping to get it back. I sold it to my mate for £4! I only paid £5 for my first copy! Hehe.

Not quite the same I know but still...

I think you should send him an email saying that you've received the wrong item... It'll save somebody else a lot of hassle later on as he might be able to message the buyer before he even receives the wrong item.

Or it could go the other way, and the seller realises his mistake and just sends your original items and tells you to keep the other items. You never know! It might cost him more (in time and/or money) to get the items back anyway.

Being a seller myself, I greatly appreciate those that let me know of my errors. I usually make it worth their effort.

I haven't purchased to many items off of Ebay, but on one occasion there was a seller who was selling 3 sealed and 1 used copy of Advance Wars DS at the same time. I bid on and won the used copy, but I ended up getting a sealed copy in the mail instead. I contacted the seller about it, but he said I could just keep the copy I had and he refunded money to a buyer who wanted a sealed copy. That's the only time I can think of where a situation like that happened to me.

Umm....if you spent 6.73 on 4 black gamecube controller extension you got ripped off....I got 5 for 4 bucks on ebay. With shipping.

I bought a complete copy of Gleylancer for 65 dollars shipped because the seller listed it as "Glenylancer". I didn't want to correct him because then there would be a swarm of people bidding on it. Is that really bad???
