Windows 10 extended security updates

Apparently I'm a month late to the news but Microsoft is allowing a few options to extend your Windows 10 security updates for another year.

Gonna steal some info from this article.

The tl;dr:

-Support is extended to October 13, 2026.

-Three ways to extend:

• 1- Still pay the $30 ransom
  2- Opt-in to the Windows Backup program
  3- Spend 1,000 Microsoft reward points (bing rewards basically)

The extended security program is accessible through the settings program and should be available to all PC's by this August.

Hopefully this helps some people. No longer any need to feel rushed about updating a PC this year.

The prerequisite is an ISO. I have not done it, but I'm supporting old PC builds I set up for gereiatrics that need everything to stay the same. I will provide support shortly, but not here. Discord. I'll streamline it and I value this forums's members as friends. I miss you guys.

And if you have your Windows install from being a student or employee of a university you can't get the extension unless your school does!
