my game room - simple, but lovable

Post by grittykitty »

one of my two roommates moved out today and took the huge lcd hdtv with him. so, now it's back to basics! what i like about it though is that the corner of the living room where he slept/worked is now my gaming room! it's not walled-off from the rest of the living room, but it's still pretty cool and keeps a lot of clutter out of my bedroom.

so, i've got the tv combo (14" screen, built-in vcr) sitting on top of the bookshelf (with a lot of my cds and all of my books) next to the speakers from my little stereo, which is also the pedastal for the sega cdx. and of course my easy chair! guitar and bass amp in the corner, bike will probably go behind the chair to make room in my bedroom closet. i may move a coffee table to the right of the shelf to hold the stereo and the cdx. if my roommate doesn't want his snes in his bedroom, i'll hook that up as well - and maybe eventually his psOne. the dreamcast sits under my desk in the bedroom, since i have the vga cable and a decent lcd monitor in there.

yeah, he was living in the corner because he was simply waiting to get his own apartment. he bought the tv a couple months ago because it was on sale, so we kept that in the center of the living room. would've been pretty ridiculous to put such a big tv in a tiny little corner

Is the Tv hooked up to those speakers or just the stereo?

And uh, nice set up you got there. Except for the couch.

At least now I don't feel so bad about my gaming set up with my 17" tv. As long as you love it, that's all that counts.

I'm also one that uses a small 17" TV/DVD combo for most of my gaming. Something more intimate about it. Plus the color is great on it, glad to know I'm not the only one in the camp "Bigger is not always better"

Nice set-up you got there gritty-kitty.

I think that's why I like playing on my LCD monitor in my home office.
Sitting up close to a nice 20 inch screen is great for me.

Won't having those speakers so close to the TV fuck up the picture over time?
