Who All Has A modded Saturn?

Post by racketboy »

I'm guessing there are probably a lot of you by now :)
Why don't we all share our love for our Modded Saturns...

Wasn't it a blissful moment when your Saturn first booted a backup of a game you've been dying to play like Radiant Silvergun or Panzer Dragoon Saga?

I have two (one as a backup) that seem to be in excellent condition. For me the one unattainable game was Shining Force III premium disc since I bought Panzer Dragoon Saga on launch day (working at toys r us in highschool had its advantages, my town of 100,00 people had 4 copies and only 3 hit the shelves thanks to me!)
It's cool maybe taking a chance on some cool imports I wouldn't have risked the time or $ to import. I love the Saturn Tempo game. Both of my modded saturns are 32 pint w/ round buttons, but one is very different from all the pics on the tutorials, my friend figured it out somehow after some experimenting.

Well the swap trick eventually killed my model 1 Saturn. Then I decided it was time to stop screwing around, and so I paid $50 or so for a mint model 2 with everything and some games, and got a mod chip from you. It's been great ever since.

So does anyone need a model 1 saturn that won't power on anymore? It's in fine physical condition inside and out. Could be used for parts.

Beat to hell modded saturn still works great!

My saturn looks like it survived the apocalypse! It was shipped without any packaging at all and three games and a demo disk, none of which survived, the controller is so hideous I refuse to use it and bought new all new ones. The system even had jiggling noise in it when I moved it, which when I opened it to modify it I discovered was a BEAD FROM A FREAKING NEAKLACE IN MY SATURN! But I modified it and played it like crazy and it still works, I broke three playstation ones (one of which caught fire while my mom was using it!) and one playstation 2 is not doing so hot (due to reading copied dvds all the time) but this beat up saturn I got for $15 dollars shipped is still trucking.
By the way, you DO NOT NEED TO SOLDER THE CONSOLE IT SELF, ONLY THE MODCHIP. Just solder a pin to the chip to plug into the power supply, and then solder the other wire to the chip itself as usual. I did this because I didnt expect this saturn to last long and wanted to have a modchip that would be easily transferable to a new saturn once this one inevitably died, which surprisingly it didnt.

I got a modded Saturn. I had two, but I sold one. I can't get enough of all the great games that mainstream advertising never told me about.
I really missed out back in the 90's.

I've had many... sold most of them off. Down to two Saturn's... one modded the other not... just haven't gotten around to modifying it.

right now i've just got one modded saturn, a white japanese model. after the chip was installed and working properly i was running around shouting words of joy (something like "YEEAAAAH-UH! WHOOOOO!") before sitting down to play shining force 3, radiant silvergun, and legend of oasis :D

i've got another white saturn that needs to be modded and sold, and a model 1 black saturn that i probably won't mod unless i'm feeling VERY adventurous

Well, well!! I remember that day.. I modded my saturn in order to play Guardian Heroes (which I wanted to play for months) When I finished modding it, then pop'd in GH.. I was in tears. It was so beautiful.. that day I played non-stop for about 10+ hours. From there on Saturn Torrents lead my way to other imports. I can never forget ST for all the great downloads I've played back in 04/05.

But I must admit, before modding my saturn I've neglected it terribly for years. I've originally bought the US saturn when it was released in 95. I've played Nights, Daytona USA, Night Warriors: Darkstalkers Revenge, X-Men Children of Atom, Virtua Fighter 2, Virtual Fighter Kids, a handful of crummy US releases. Now in 06, i'm still playing my Saturn, and i'm planning to buy a imported Grey Saturn soon. Also looking for Model 2 Controllers, proclaimed the best controllers ever.

It was funny, the other day my friend was telling me to sell all my 'junk', referring to my Saturn/NES/PS ect. But when he told me to get rid of my Saturn (because he noticed some Sellers on Amazon selling an US saturn for $140-220) my heart stopped for a moment. I'm still enjoing my Modded Saturn (more than PS2/GC), with all new titles i've never played, why whould I sell it? heh
