I was just shown Mega Cat Studios. Has anyone played any of their games? Any of them good? Some upcoming titles look interesting, though the released games look to be mostly puzzlers.
Thoughts?
Mega Cat Studies - any good games?
Re: Mega Cat Studies - any good games?
I've heard good things about Tanglewood, a platformer for Genesis and Tanzer, an action platformer also for Genesis. I haven't played them yet myself, but my friend purchased Tanglewood and had positive things to say about it.
The gameplay videos I saw of Phantom Gear also looked good IMO, but on the website it says the game is unreleased, so I'm not sure why it's been held up.
Those are the games from the company I'm interested in. Hope that's helpful!

Tanzer is a can't miss, must have. I've heard good things about Tanglewood, coffee crisis, and Little Medusa. I've checked on phantom gear for the last year to purchase but it's never in stock.

I played a couple of their games before backing some of their current projects. Tanglewood was really well made and fun. Little Medusa for NES was also well made and fun; I haven't tried the 16bit version. I watched a video on Old Towers and it looks awesome.
Looking forward to Phantom Gear - the making of video shows some really good details and I love their attention to detail especially with the art.

Now how do we get them developing for PC Engine, eh? (I mean, they'd be stupid to look at that market given how small it is, but I can want it nonetheless.)
Re: Mega Cat Studies - any good games?
I played Coffee Crisis on Genesis at a local coffee shop. Honestly, I was kind of disappointed because I didn't feel like it played very well. It was a few years ago, so I can't be too specific, but I for a side-scrolling beat-em-up I felt like the controls just weren't very smooth compared to other games of that genre I have played.

A few of these games are also ported to modern platforms; so, it’s relatively easy to play them. (Is really like to play Tanzer, but it remains a Genesis console exclusive!!)
I have Coffee Crisis, and it’s an OK beat ‘em up. Creepy Brawlers is a really fun Punch-Out!! clone, however, and I can easily recommend that game.

Some, including Tanzer are on the evercade. But yeah you'd think that one would be on some modern consoles.prfsnl_gmr wrote:A few of these games are also ported to modern platforms; so, it’s relatively easy to play them. (Is really like to play Tanzer, but it remains a Genesis console exclusive!!)

You don't have a Genesis? I'm the opposite. I don't have any of the modern platforms (except Steam, I guess), so I love it when these games come to old consoles.prfsnl_gmr wrote:A few of these games are also ported to modern platforms; so, it’s relatively easy to play them.
