Best PS2 controllers

Hey folks. So despite it being one of my favorite consoles (or maybe because it is), all of my controllers for my PlayStation 2 are damaged in various ways. Outside of Sony brand controllers, can anyone recommend any decent, readily available controllers for the PS2? Bonus points if anyone knows of any good wireless PS2 controllers.

I have some Logitech Cordless Action Controllers. They work great.

Sounds good. Where's a good place to find them? Amazon only had them used for, like, $40, and eBay had tons, but the majority were broken or missing their receiver.

I got all of mine used on ebay, but that was many years ago. I found that the xbox ones, at least, can be paired to a different receiver if the controller and receiver are bought separately.

As far as 3rd party wired controllers go, I like the wired Madcatz MicroCON dual-force 2 pro.
I can't say the build quality is any good, and a lot of people hate madcatz controllers, but I find them really comfortable, and I like that the analog controls sorta snap to the X and Y axis as well as the center dead zone.
I recently cleaned all of my controllers and all of my madcatz controllers analog mechanisms needed Deoxit fader lube applied internally for the analog controls to work properly and not send bad signals. After I lubed them all, they're all working perfectly again. Kinda wish I hadn't thrown some away back in the day when they went bad as I coud've fixed them this way too.

Their PS2 RetroCON are pretty neat too.

I've never tried their wireless controllers.

I have bought a couple NOS sealed matcatz controllers that were DOA. Fair warning - madcatz kinda suck.

I had a RetroCON back when they were brand new. I thought it was a neat gimmick at first. Over time, I grew to dislike it. The D-pad was a little mushy - not the worst D-pad I've ever used, just par for the course with third party controllers. The lights were bright enough to be distracting in a dark room. The RetroCON randomly stopped working one day. I didn't drop it or get it wet; it just died all on its own.

I cannot recommend the RetroCON.

I wouldn't recommend the RetroCON either. One of the DOA sealed controllers I mentioned was a RetroCON.

I remembered a good 3rd party controller I got.
The Sammy Keyboard Pad Mini is really well built. One of the best controllers I own. Doubt you'd find one cheap these days tho.

Sega made a Saturn gamepad for PS2. It's not fully featured, no analog buttons, no analog joysticks or L3 R3 buttons. Build quality seems to be the same as a real Sega Saturn pad. I have the black one I'd part with for cheap if anyone wants it. I've never even plugged it in.
