Cheap streaming from my CRT
I finally have my monitor and consoles set up in my room and I've thought about streaming some games from it. The issue is, I cannot find an affordable solution.
I'm looking for something that can capture the output from my Wii (Component, 240p) as it emulates all old consoles very well. Sure, ideally I would find something that can capture RGB but I can't find anything that isn't extremely expensive.
I don't know if I can use an Avermedia Game Capture II to stream, either. I had a chance to buy one second hand for like 20€ but I'm not sure it works for streaming purporses.
Any tips?

Get an amplified splitter box. One signal goes to the TV so you can play. The other just needs to go to a typical analog capture care for PC. I don't know much about RGB, but there are tons of analog Svideo capture cards of varying quality.

Woops, sorry Marurun, I thought I had replied but I didn't.
I have a professional monitor with both inputs and outputs so, fortunately, I don't need a splitter.
I'm not sure a S-Video card would be a great idea since I don't have any S-Video cables and they capture card doesn't seem very cheap either

Re: Cheap streaming from my CRT
I'm trying to think of a good system that would preserve the original signal and split it reliably, and I'm totally stumped. I think Keene used to make one, but even their old hardware has gotten expensive just because it's known to work reliably better than the cheap non branded stuff... Of course an Extron system that costs more than a computer can do it... I have not bought my dream system yet - it's too expensive. I decided to save up and buy to the OSSC after finding the Framemeister is awesome, but not the device I wanted. I'm completely satisfied with the OSSC - it is the best scaler. After converting the analog signal to digital proper progressive signal using a (slightly) expensive signal processing device, it's trivial to split it to a display and a capture card.
I think it all comes down to the same "take a dive and aim for the deep end" situation. A HDMI 1 -> 2 switcher is less than $10 on ebay and HDMI capture devices are plentiful and can easily capture 60fps digital if it's been pre-processed properly. When you try to capture an interlaced analog signal, it's a long painful process to make it into a clean signal if you do not have the experience to deal with an unprocessed interlaced analog signal. Every system outputs a slightly different quality signal and your filter matrix needs to be adjusted for each analog variable to output a standard video format - it's not real time to get an ideal output (unless I'm out of the loop - which is likely - probably someone has even made a reliable and awesome reto avisynth filter).

If you are emulating anyway, why not just play and stream from your PC?

You can buy an Extron Crosspoint for 30-40€ which is comparable to SCART solutions, yet better. In fact, it can actually be cheaper because you can use RCA/BNC cables instead of expensive ones with SCART connectors in them.

The main reason is that I want to play on my CRT. It looks far, far better than my PC monitor will ever be able to.
It's a bit more complex than that, but that's the gist of it.

Anyways, this is what I know so far:
If I want RGB or Component capture, there are two ways to do it:
- Very expensive dedicated devices, like a USB3HDCAP.
- Scaling the picture to HDMI and then using an ElGato or similar
If I want Composite or S-Video then:
- I can get a super cheap Easy Capture for like 10-15€ (https://www.amazon.com/YXGOOD-EasyCAP-C ... B011BSQQLG)
- I can use an ElGato HD, for about 50€ which is better but still Composite/S-Video
I've read about a ton other devices but that seems the gist of it. I don't know if the Avermedia Game Capture HD (C281) supports 240p or if it can be used with Twitch or anything like that.
Am I really lost?

I want to do that, eventually. However, it requires a dedicated PC with a hacked graphics card that outputs at a very low resolution. And then it would be like a console, I don't think it would be possible to stream directly from it, or at least recommendable.

I would think one of those cheapo VGA-to-composite converter boxes would suffice. I see plenty of those on amazon and newegg for fifteen~ish dollars. At that price point, it's basically an impulse purchase. Just buy one, and see if it's good enough for you.
Re: Cheap streaming from my CRT
If you have a PC with an older video card, or the capacity to use an older video card (maybe as a secondary card?), some of them have S-video out on them.
