So with Photobucket deciding to not let you embed images unless you pay...
What's the best image hosting site to use?
Free is great, but I wouldn't mind paying for something if the yearly subscription isn't too much.
What are you all using? Please state why you think it's good.
Best image hosting site?
Re: Best image hosting site?
I've been using tinypic for an avatar on one forum for a long time, now.
Re: Best image hosting site?
I just spent a good 3 hours transferring files from Photobucket to Imgur, and then relinking my collection photos. Thankfully, I'd already started to migrate some, but dear god....
Anyway, I haven't had a problem with Imgur...yet. They're not nearly as chock full of ads as Photobucket either.
You could also use Flickr, but you have to go through a couple extra steps to get the BBcode (and make sure the image is labeled as Public, since it's Private by default.) You also may have to do some editing, to the code given, depending on how much linking you want going on with the image.

Re: Best image hosting site?
I still am using those clowns.
Is there a site that displays similarly to them?
I tried to use imgur and it's a hot mess that pays no attention to any kind of order. I tried to upload my transformers collection (nearly 200 pics) and it put them all out of order. It seems you can manually move things to check them out, ONE AT A TIME using the mouse. Not happening. I have sales images over 100, random pics of that plus, and a few other quite small ones for arcade, pinball, antiques, ww2 stuff. Don't want to maintain a mess that won't maintain itself A-Z.

Re: Best image hosting site?
I guess I'm screwed then as their site sucks. It won't organize stuff properly without a lot of stupid hoops.
Re: Best image hosting site?
Does it at least have folders and sub folders to organize with?
What about file type and file size limits?

Re: Best image hosting site?
You can divide your images into albums in Imgur, yes. But not sub-albums, as far as I can tell.
Supported files include:
JPEG
PNG
GIF
APNG
TIFF
PDF
XCF (GIMP) files to Imgur
And the max file size for non-animated images is 20MB.

Re: Best image hosting site?
The drag and drop is fun to use too. It's just so easy. lol
It was disappointing to see imageshack die (I think?) and then photobucket just got continually worse over the years. Finally cuttings its own tail now.
