Using Sega Genesis Controllers on a PS2

Post by molotovwars »

So I was looking around at the various converters on the internet, and came across the "Classic Joypad Converter" http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-kg- ... 0-29v.html that lets you use a PSX or PS2 controller for your Sega Genesis.

Does anyone know of a converter that does the opposite, let me use my Genesis controller on my PS2?

Also, anyone know of any PS2 controllers similar to the Genesis ones? Something like the Wii Classic Controller I guess. I remember seeing those Street Fighter Aniversary 6 button controllers for PS2, those might work, but I'm open for suggestions as I'm sure there are tons of great controller options I've never heard about.

I don't think I've seen any converters that you use actual Genesis pads, but Sega did put out these...

That's more like the model 2 Saturn controller..but Genesis and Saturn controllers share many similarities. Plus it would only be useful in games where analog sticks aren't necessary...which limits you to....fighting games...and thats about it. But it's probably much better then the ps2 pad for fighters.

After I posted I started looking through Play-Asia's selection of Playstation 2 controllers and I came across that same Saturn one you linked me to. That controller is the exact thing I'm looking for, I'd use it for shmups and fighters (and I plan on getting the Gunstar Heroes Sega Ages disc, if not others, plus the possibility of using a homebrew genny emulator).

Too bad its out of stock, anyone got one they want to part ways with? Or know another place to get one? I guess I'll have to make a saved search in ebay.

eh, its just really hard to capture that same feeling. I've read peoples thoughts on the street fighter controllers, and from what I've read it just doesn't compare to the above saturn one.
