So I was reading a review for Dynasty Warriors: Godseekers yesterday, a very positive review in fact. One of the things the reviewer said is that the game does an amazing job of being a good Japanese strategy rpg yet still feeling like a Dynasty Warriors game.
Fast forward to tonight, I'm playing Lara Croft Go for the first time on PS4. It's a puzzle game, yet I'm amazed at how it still feels like Tomb Raider.
So I thought I'd make a thread where you can give props to games that took an established series or franchise and successfully transitioned them to a different genre
I might as well give some props to A King's Tale: Final Fantasy XV as I love praising that game every chance I get for doing a good job of making a Final Fantasy styled beat 'em up. And the same can probably be said of Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below

I've got one:
Fallout 2 to Fallout 3. They are RPGs but the change from isometric turn based gameplay to first person shooter/action game. I think it counts.
