eSports betting? (Dota 2 & CS:GO)

Post by EnormousBallsOfBotox »

Hey :)

I'm not sure if this post should go here or in off-topic but it is indeed gaming related so I'll try my chances here.

I was wondering if anyone here has tried or is experienced in betting on eSport games? You know, I'm probably light years behind but I had no idea this was an actual thing before I saw this article posted on facebook earlier this evening.

I have played Dota since it was just an early mod to WC3 and CS since 1.6 was released. I would consider myself pretty skilled in both of these games and kind of knowledgeable about the pro teams as I usually follow the matches being streamed on twitter. Therefore I was thinking I could possibly be able to make some money out of this, but as it is completely new to me I don't want to jump into anything before having checked with someone who is already experienced in this. Call me paranoid, but I'd rather have a personal experience from someone than just read articles about it.

I'd really appreciate any advice I could get on this topic. Anything from how "easy" it is making money out of this to what would be a good site to start with.

I'm not sure this is the right forum for that kind of inquiry. While many of us play current games, the core site focus is classic games. Not saying nobody will respond meaningfully, but were I a betting man, I'd guess you're not going to get much.

Were you a betting man my chances for an answer would probably be great :)

Jokes aside, I hear what you're saying. Not too many seems to be doing this actually so I find it hard getting any good information.

Honestly, if we have money for wagering, it typically goes into finding old gems complete in box. : )

What exactly are you asking? If the site is legitimate?

Not at all. I'm wondering how easy it is actually making money from eSports betting and any tips I could get around. What would be a good place to get started, if there is any strategy around it that would be good knowing of etc. This is very new to me so any advice or information I could get from someone already doing this would be great. Not sure if anyone here is actually doing it though :P

Not that I have too much experience with gambling other than a handful of trips to the casino in Cherokee and silly bets around Super Bowl time, but I would think that if you're trying to get into gambling to make money, you just might be doing it wrong.
