So there are a few console mods I've been wanting, but I'm incompetent with hardware modifications. I know Apolloboy used to be our resident modder, but last I heard, he was done with that life. Is there anyone here with the technical know-how and willingness to do some mods for me every now and then?

I've been considering the following (in order from most desired to least):

TurboGrafx-16 region mod
Atari 7800 composite/S-video mod
Atari 5200 composite/S-video mod
Playstation 2 region mod
Intellivision composite/S-video mod

For the PS2 region mod, I just use Free McBoot + HDD + Open PS2 Loader.

I tested out the JPN .iso for NiGHTS off the HDD with OPL. Ran flawless. Haven't gotten into the scene much.

Now if your goal is to collect JPN PS2 games, importing a JPN console will be the easiest and still relatively cheap route. Even then, legit ripping the disc you own, and running the .iso off OPL will work.

Not that I'm aware of. There is a newer method for PS1 off PS2 HDD called POP Starter. That may boot ps1 import .isos but I'm still needing to try that. Got caught up with another mod.
