Was an at anime con last weekend and saw what appeared to be a Disgaea CCG sold by a vendor. Closer inspection revealed they're part of the larger Weiß Schwarz card game, which contains lost of other licensed sets with characters from Hatsune Miku, Sword Art Online, Fate/stay night, and TONS more. I even read that a Puyo Puyo set is coming soon.
Anyone play this? Worth your time or goofy otaku fodder? I didn't buy anything at the time because video games had already vaporized what little cash I brought.

Re: Weiß Schwarz CCG - ever play it?
Game has been around a long time and there are translation pages for it:

But I have not played it. The review on BGG makes it sound like a mix of Magic and Yugioh:

I haven't played it but I played a different game from the same company: Cardfight!! Vanguard
Cardfight!! Vanguard isn't based on specific licenses but it definitely has an otaku-aimed anime aesthetic. They can be pretty ridiculous too; there's one clan that consists of cyborg football players from another dimension and another that's just mermaid pop idols. I had a lot of fun with it, the rules and strategy are very simple/beginner friendly, while booster packs are CRAZY EXPENSIVE I didn't mind buying them because of the high quality art. I had more fun with it than I did with Magic: the Gathering.
Based on my Cardfight experience, I'd say Weiss Schwarz is probably worth trying. And if there's a Puyo Puyo set I might finally need to buy a deck myself.
