Dead Simple Drop Shipping - guide to making supplementary $

Post by Overload »

Not sure why this was deleted as I've received no messages, and don't exactly know who the mods are or how to contact them, so I'm reposting.

I've written a step-by-step guide to make guaranteed supplementary income by drop shipping. I make around $500/mo and you can expect at least $50 profit in your first month. You can find it here: LINK REMOVED BY MOD

Drop shipping is simply selling something and having it shipped directly from a supplier to the customer, you're the middleman facilitating the transaction. The work is incredibly simple, really just copying and pasting. You'll need a paypal account to receive payments, and a debit or credit card to purchase the products for your customers.

Here is a shot of my paypal (the $170 is not part of my income): https://i.sli.mg/8Zk9rI.png

Drop shipping has also featured prominently in some Internet-based home business scams. Scam artists will promote drop shipping as a lucrative "work from home opportunity". The victim who buys into this scam will be sold a list of businesses from which drop shipment orders can be placed. These businesses may not be wholesalers, but other businesses or individuals acting as middlemen between retailers and wholesalers, with no product of their own to sell. These middlemen often charge prices that leave little profit margin for the victim, and require a regular fee for the retailer's usage of their services.

I have no hate for you, Overload. Maybe you don't realize that you're caught up in this scam yourself. Maybe someone else recruited you into this drop shipping nonsense? If that's the case, I suggest you cut your losses and get out now.

Remember: if someone offers you something that seems too good to be true, it probably is. There is no such thing as a quick, easy way to make lots of money working from home.

I was planning on writing a review of Overloads drop shipping guide, as I bought it about a month ago from his original thread, but was only going to do so a bit later once I became more familiar with the process. I figure i'll chime in now just to confirm this is legit for anyone who is skeptical.

I admit, I never really heard of drop shipping prior to this, but was looking for a way to earn some extra money on the side each month to save for certain things. When I saw his original thread, I figured i'd take a chance since it was only 3 bucks and worst case is I lose 3 bucks. No big deal.

So having spent about the last 3 weeks following his guide, I can confirm this isn't a scam or a pyramid scheme. In fact other than the initial 3 dollars on the guide, I spent 0 dollars of my own money. In the 3 weeks i've been casually doing this, i've earned maybe $50 thus far, but am steadily rising in profits earned. I'd imagine i'd cap out somewhere around $300-500/month once i'm more familiar with the entire process and become more established. While I wouldn't suggest this for everyone, it is definitely a neat secondary source of income for anyone who could use it.

Anyways, i'd be more comfortable writing a more in-depth review later on, but I just wanted to let the mods or anyone hesitant about this that it isn't a scam. Overload advertises that this method doesn't cost you any money, and he is correct aside from the initial guide purchase.

"Drop shipping is a supply chain management technique in which the retailer does not keep goods in stock but instead transfers customer orders and shipment details to either the manufacturer, another retailer, or a wholesaler, who then ships the goods directly to the customer. As in retail businesses, the majority of retailers make their profit on the difference between the wholesale and retail price, but some retailers earn an agreed percentage of the sales in commission, paid by the wholesaler to the retailer."

That's the only part that's relevant. However, you're correct in that profit margins are low (around $2-3 per sale) which is why you're probably not going to be able to live off of this, at least not using the platform in the guide. Establishing your own platform later on will allow you greater margins and a higher volume of sales ($200 on my best day).

For the record, I was never sold a thing, and figured this out myself with about $100 to my name, and it's been keeping me alive for a year now. Thanks for the chuckle.

One of the things that is a pretty iffy though is a lot of the products you are selling are unlicensed knockoffs. So you open yourself up to potential legal issues

I didn't delete this the first time - but I can see why one of us did.

First: from your link Zero starup costs and no marketing required.

If you're going to sell something - you can't say "Zero startup costs" when you're charging $15...for a PDF document. That $15 is by definition a "startup cost" and also
a silly waste of money

I'm not paying $15 to read your word document, but i'm guessing you leave out the part where anyone who does this should be filing their taxes as BUSINESS, setting up their paypal account as a BUSINESS, and buying BUSINESS INSURANCE since that is what you are now and everyone of those paypal payments received is considered income. Expect to pay 30% on any "profits". Not too mention most drop-ship items deal with bootlegs and other trademark infringements and your hiding as "i'm only a middle-man" won't play very well when one of them comes after you AND you will lose EVERY SINGLE paypal claim against you if ANY buyer is unhappy with their item, because it's a hard/fast rule - all bootleg merchandise payments are decided in favor of buyer. Every one.

That depends on what you choose to sell. Even if you sell knockoffs, you're more likely to get struck by lightning than to face any recourse. There are countless others doing the same exact thing who would be much bigger targets and nothing ever happens. It's an unkillable hydra.

The $15 isn't a requirement provided you take the time to figure it out for yourself. I'm selling a shortcut to a model which requires $0 investment. That's obvious, and you're obviously nitpicking.

I assume people are intelligent enough to deal with taxes on their own, there's no place for that in the guide. Also, I'm pretty sure a few extra hundred bucks/mo doesn't really qualify. "PayPal is required to report gross payments received for sellers who receive over $20,000 in gross payment volume AND over 200 separate payments in a calendar year"

Why exactly would you need business insurance?

People can sell literally anything. If you don't want to sell bootleg/knockoff stuff, don't.

You'll lose every single paypal claim regardless of what you sell. Paypal favors the buyers every time as that's where they make the most money. Of my ~1500 sales, I've had less than a dozen disputes. People are generally willing to work with you before taking it to paypal. Those that do get disputed are a negligible loss, and if the dispute is for a legitimate reason, such as an item never arriving, then you're usually able to get your money back as well.

It's priced at $15 because it's not worth it to increase competition for myself for anything less, and arguably not worth it even at that price. The guide is just an extra source of income for the time being, and as soon as my (unrelated) debt is paid off, it's coming down.

Your bias is obvious, and your post seethes with rage.

1. Your Link: https://payhip.com/b/7maU you again just said you're selling a shortcut which requires $0 investment. The thing your selling for $0 costs $15.

2. You said you've used this to support yourself for over a year - if you support yourself on a couple hundred dollars a month...well, ok then. Regardless - Paypal is not the IRS. What paypal is mandated to report is different than what you are mandated to report. By selling this document I don't think you have the first clue about your responsibilities. Any person who BUYS your document and ends up with say, tax debt or other legal issues, can reference YOUR document they BOUGHT and you can be held liable. Do I think that will happen? Very unlikely. Is it still an irresponsible document? Very likely. Will I ask myself more rhetorical questions? Possibly.

3. YES - YOU'VE GOT ME SO ANGRY. I WISH MY KEYBOARD HAD SUPER CAPS AND MORE EXCLAMATIONS. GRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!

1. If you pick up a book at Barnes & Noble that tells you it'll teach you how to make money on, say, craigslist starting with a $0 budget, you're not going to point to the price sticker on the back and claim the book is falsely advertised. The business model requires no initial startup costs. You're paying for a guide. Everyone understands this.

2. Welcome to my humble abode

3. When you put "profit" in quotes and outright call what I'm selling a silly waste of money having never read it for yourself, yeah, you look pretty angry. And maybe my eyes were playing tricks on me, but I'm pretty sure this thread was deleted for a minute or two. Maybe it wasn't you though.
